WHY SHOULD I HIRE AN ATTORNEY FOR MY MINNESOTA DUI CASE?

This is a very common question.  Many people think a DUI is pretty straightforward and there isn’t much a DUI attorney will be able to do for their case.  This is true in some cases.  DUI attorneys aren’t magicians.  We can’t inject facts into a case that would make the resolution more beneficial to our client.  We have to deal with the facts and circumstances of each individual case as they’re presented.  Now, it is also true that our thorough investigation into your DUI case may uncover facts or circumstances that you were previously unaware of or did not think much of prior to meeting with us.

A DUI case in Minnesota typically involves a number of unique facts or circumstances that should be investigated by an experienced DUI attorney.  In some cases, there can be more to it than simply a traffic stop, field sobriety testing and an arrest.  The DUI laws in Minnesota have changed quite a bit over the past couple years.  Perhaps the biggest change of all now requires the police to get a search warrant before requiring an arrested driver to submit to certain types of tests.  Before making a decision on whether to hire a DUI lawyer for your Minnesota case, you should at least talk to a lawyer.  We offer free DUI consultations.  We’re happy to talk to anyone facing a DUI, whether they intend to hire a lawyer or would just like a few questions answered.

FREE DUI CONSULTATIONS WITH AN EXPERIENCED MINNESOTA DUI ATTORNEY

A consultation allows us to get an idea of the facts and circumstances of a particular DUI case.  We’ll be honest with you.  If we feel there isn’t much we’d be able to do on your case, we’ll tell you.  If we feel that you might be able to make your first appearance in court by yourself and get a pretty decent outcome, we’ll tell you.  It has happened many times where we’ve advised someone how to handle their first appearance and what to ask for – and they’ve gotten the result they wanted.  If this is the case for your DUI, we’ll advise you how to handle your first appearance and what to do if the prosecutor didn’t extend the offer we expected.  You can always ask for another court date if you go to your first appearance by yourself.  You will not be forced to plead guilty or accept an offer you do not want.

On the other hand, if there is something we feel we’d be able to accomplish in your DUI case, we’ll explain that to you and the sort of difference it’d make in your case.  While we can’t promise a specific outcome, we can usually make some aspect of a DUI case a little easier to deal with than if you handled the case by yourself.

Give us a call today if you’d like to set up a free consultation to discuss your DUI case.
